Centenary College is located in Hackettstown, New Jersey.  The college boasts its outstanding equestrian center and some of the highest quality horses that you will not find in any other college program.  They are located right in the middle of the New England horse country and the program is designed to turn students into equine professionals.  The college offers a Bachelor’s of Arts, Associate of Science programs in Communications for the Equine Industry, Equine Science, Equine Business Management, Riding instruction and training and a certificate program in Therapeutic Riding.

Students at Centenary College have the option to pursue your equestrian skills regardless of current ability.  Students are able to improve their riding in hunter/jumpers, hunt seat equitation and dressage.  They also have equestrian teams through the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association, Intercollegiate Dressage and the Affiliated National Riding Commission.  The school consistently ranks in the top of the competition and has earned several IHSA National Reserve Championships.  The college also hosts competitions.

The Riding Instruction and Training option is for those students who are interested in working as a professional instructor and trainer in all English disciplines including dressage.  Students learn the different methods of teaching and training horses, judging, schooling the green horse, working with the problem horse, course design and horse show management.

The Equine Business Management option allows students to focus on business-related career goals such as business administration, accounting, management and marketing.

The Communication for the Equine Industry option prepares students entering the fields of journalism, photography, mass media, public relations and advertising.  Students receive an introduction to journalism, non-fiction freelance writing, photojournalism, media news writing, public speaking and advertising.

The Equine Science option prepares students to work in veterinary clinics, breeding management operations or graduate research.  Students will take courses in equine first aid, equine systems and disorders, breeding and reproduction and equine musculoskeletal system.

The core of the program allows students to focus on equine care and management, riding theory, training concepts, farm design and management, equine systems and disorders, musculoskeletal system and nutrition.  A Therapeutic Riding Instruction certification program is also available to students.
