Every year the horse Christmas gifts just get better.  This year one of my horsey friends found the coolest frame.  It says Love My Horse, the love is actually a heart, and the words are cut out of matting.  I actually think this would be pretty easy to make yourself if you are crafty.  The cool part about the whole thing is that you can place pictures of your horse or horses behind the letters.  This was one of the best gifts I have ever received, it was very thoughtful.

The other great part about this gift was that it gave me the opportunity to pull out all of my old horse pictures.  I found the ones of Buttercup, my first pinto pony.  Pictures of Sesna, my old breeding stock Paint mare and the greatly loved Big John.  Big John was a 17 hand Appendix Quarter Horse that was the love of my life.  Unfortunately, he was horrible cribber and we lost him to a bad colic case in the middle of the night. 

Aside from the bad memories, there were great memories as well.  These memories are just another part of Christmas that I just love.  I love looking back at the old photos and remembering the time I spent with my grandpa breaking and training my mare and the good times we had with Buttercup when I was a little kid.

I encourage all of you horse lovers out there to take a moment and go back through the old pictures and remember those that we loved and still love feeding every morning and night.
