Okay I can't believe this but I know it to be true. Has anyone seen a horses hoof start to grow around a shoe?

Its true I read a story in a magazine and the guy saved this horse from a neglected pasture. It was in general fair health. But had just been out to pasture for a long time.

And the man never seen it out, not rode in years. So he went up and asked and the horse was acquired for a 100 bucks. Got it home and went to trim the hoofs as he thought it was just shoeless..

Nope the shoes had been buried inside the horn! lucky it didn't change the angle of the pastern! I couldn't believe but you get stories of different nature all the time.
