I just got my first mustang six months ago. She is such a beauty, personality and behavior. She came from the BLM. She was extremely shy and I had to earn her trust slowly at first but now the same horse that would run at the sight of someone getting too close now is my favorite. She is extremly gentle, and although I am unsure if it's just her or if this is typical of the breed, she instinctively trusted my daughter from the start. When we needed to catch her too medicate or just wanted to touch her my daughter could walk right up to her and hold her and keep her calm, and she's only 12! She had already been broke but not much else. She never nips or shows any bad behavior and has turned my daughter onto the joys of horse back riding. We have other horses for her to ride but she always picks the mustang. She rides with such confidence mainly because the horse just seems to know she is little and is so great with her. When I ride her it is different. She picks up her pace and though she still is very well behaved, she seems to sense that she can walk faster and when she runs she is the most sure footed and confident horse I have ever ridden! She hasn't stumbled and has only spooked once and that consisted of a bunny hop that was over as soon as I touched her neck and told her all was okay. She is wonderful! If I ever get the chance I would love to get another one..
