The vet is a great place to start. The ones they recommend are usually good although some are by referral only. You can also check with the AFA American farriers Assocation, but some of the really good older ones aren't members. Then if your breed specific. A good reiner will need sliding plates where a TWH will need platforms. But trimming is about the same across the board.
P8nt was right price will vary, location,what your having done and farrier experience are all factors.
In Pa, trims are $30-50
Fronts-$90 All round-$150 keg shoes[means bought off shelf]
speciality or handmade-$250 +

P8nt- Almost would be worth flying your guy here. Have a paintwith bad feet in Glue on 3* wedge Aluminum bars. He is $325
