Do you take any kind of horsemanship lessons? I would probably start with a trainer...as far as beginning a horse...I usually don't start them until they are at least 4 years of age (full-grown in height usually, developed bones) and I always start with groundpoles and cavaletti until I get my horse's movement and feet working correctly I like a good solid under-saddle foundation on a horse before I start training over fences.
