Oooh yes the "heels down!" call happens every time

Hmm, I can't really call myself a jumper, although I have been doing some jumping recently. However, considering how irregularly I end up in the saddle, proper jumping and triaing is impossible. And not for lack of wanting, believe me.

Jumping is the best part of riding - for me, anyway. Feels like flying *dreamy expression*

Anyway, agreed with above - balance and heels down is a must. Remember to no pull on the reins too hard, either - it's best to loosen them up a bit, to allow your horse to jump comfortably, without having to strian atyour hands.

Also, signal right before you take-off, and don't sit down over the jump! I did that once - by accident, mind, and because I had crap balance at the time - andit a) hurt upon landing and b) got me yelled at by my instructor really badly.

But anyway, hope that was at least of some help.

Now, go on and soar away!
