Yes, the new show stock is definitely different from the original working stock Morgan horse.

I still find those thick stocky little Morgans every now and again. Had 2 rescues, one was the show-type stock. Slender, delicate looking. The other was completely the opposite. Broad hindquarters and deep chest. Very thick boned, huge cresty neck, big feet and head. At the same time very close coupled build.
