Don't know about spider spray but " sea melons"- I know they have other names. They are a bright/light colored green larger than a grapefruit and very wrinkley, almost brain looking. It is something natural, although no one eats them. I don't know how they work, if they kill or just chase away. I use 8 in my barn it's 36 x 90, full bank barn so upstairs is 2 stories as well.
