I bought a Mustang that a man adopted and threw in a pasture for a year and did nothing with it but beat him and throw in mares to breed him with, and then beat him to get the mares backs out. He was horriable when I got him and still can be a bit wild to this day but I have only had him since June 6th of '06. He charged at me, trampled me, kicked, bit ect....but he is now the best riding horse I own out of 5 others. You have to put alot of time and effort into training and gaining trust of these horses. They are very smart, and very strong. It is best to have trained a domesticated horse before you try and train a wild mustang. My horse was more wild than he would have been if he had not have been beaten. I have helped train another BLM mustang and he never charged or even thought about it, but still was very dangerous at first. So consider, that you have time EVERYDAY, you are some what experinced with training and then if you do and are then go for it. If you do adopt a BLM mustang also be prepared for accidents and injuries, my father and I have suffered, broken bones, bite's, kicks, being trampled ect, by both my mustnag and the other BLM I helped train.
