Yeah, I had always heard that too and tried it with the same result. The smaller flies didn't like it but the big horse flies didn't seem affected. As another negative the Skin So soft has mineral oil (used refined motor oil from car companies) and clogs up skin pores so bad for skin too. Yep, hard to believe but yes it's one of the main ingredients, at least the Avon SSS I've seen.
