I would like to breed my mare for my next horse. She was bred once when she was 9 before I owned her, took successfully and had an uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery. She is now 15 and I was hoping to breed her next year (same stallion). Her offspring, now 6, is said to be gorgeous and training well. Has anyone had experience breeding an older mare? And if she was already bred once at 9, do you think breeding her at 16 will work?
