I've been looking into leasing a horse and have seen all different types of lease arrangements. One horse, a third level dressage proven and 3'6'' jumper, is going for $400 per month in lease and then his board, vet and farrier on top of that. I've seen some leases at $9,000 per year and then full board/vet/farrier. Does that make sense? Seems a little crazy to me. If I've got that kind of cash, I'd buy a horse. Or am I just being to optimistic?
