Default Finally She is here

Well, I finally have her back here. She made the trip fine and seems to be settling in to the new stable well. I've been working her on the ground for about the last week - lounging, round pen, leading her around the arenas and putting her on the walker - to conditioner her a bit and to get her used to the new place. Wednesday I'm planning on riding for the first time. Just a short ride in the indoor arena.

I love Texas in the winter. There will be very few days I won't get to ride and by March, it is all over. But don't ask me how I like Texas in August. LOL

What is her name and is she a dun?

I sold a dun filly to the Utah a few years ago and lost track of her. Just wondering if the *beep* you bought might by chance be the one we bred.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with her, yet. She has been shown in Pleasure and Performance and did pretty well considering how little she was shown. So I'd like to try my hand at showing a little.

I really like the idea of the endurance trail riding. I did a lot of trail riding growing up and really loved it. As a young adult, I did a good bit of camping, some pretty primitive. So the idea of camping on horse back and throwing in a bit of competition on top of it sounds *great* to me. However, I have a hubby and a daughter and only one horse right now. SO...I probably wouldn't be able to compete often enough in that arena to really get anywhere...

Do you guys do the endurance trail riding? How does it work?
