Default A color question

This little guy was born October 2nd. Yes I know it is rather late for a foal but his mother was extreamly over due. The question is.. What color will he be? This match up has always produced a dark grey pinto foal.. until now. My first thought would be bay.. however, he is almost white under his belly, he has snow capping on his tail and there is black hair under the hair on his face.

It is kinda hard to tell the exact color, but If his mane and tail are black, he will in a liklyhood be a bay, but if his mane and tail are reddish brown, then he would be considered a Chestnut. My filly had a reddish mane and tail at birth but changed to a blond in her yearling year. I think she is a sorrel.

Looks bay to me too. Black ear tips, black nostrils, light legs, and black mane and tail. Heres a pic of my bay at 2 days old.

You can see how light his belly was. His legs were light fawn at birth, and he came in black w/in a few weeks. this is him at a month old.

He's VERY bay now.
You can see that mom has the agouti gene, and if dad threw a black gene you get a bay. Gotta love genetics, lol.

Hey! He looks like a bay. Babies can get you pretty confused on color sometimes, I've got what was supposed to be a buckskin, now turning to a light bay.

It is so hard to tell what you'll end up with when it comes to color, I've had one appear bay and turn out grey dapple. This was out of a bay sire and sorrel dam. It's all in the genes. Go figure.

I looked at the first photo you have posted and I thought the horses tongue was hanging out with that red marking on the fence. hehehe
