I think donkeys are so cute! Are they any different than horses? We have five acres and currently have no livestock, except ducks.

How hard would it be to have a donkey?

Donkeys dont have that great of gaits from what I heard and they can be a bit stubborn, but other then that, I think they are cool.

I have always thought donkeys were cute too. But I have never owned one. It must be true what they say about donkey's being stubborn. If that is the case I would think it might be hard to have them as a pet? Not sure though.

I have one mini donkey and he is a total sweet heart. When we got him he was not a happy donkey. But he is a great pet and wonderful guarding animal. I would not say they are stubborn. They just don't trust us in the same way a horse does. The see us for the idiots we are LOL. My donkey does not lead if i am even kinda in front of him. Trimming his feet is not one of his favoriuet activities and he makes sure that everytime is a new adventure. He is not so much bad as challenging and we never do him the same way twice.
They make greta pets and do bond to ppl but do not do as well as single horse does one must have at leats 2 or a horse for them.
