Default First Horse

Molly, that old girl will always be in the old memory banks. But the first horse I ever rode was in front of an Western Auto Hardware store and I showed that rank steed what was what.

Hi everyone, the first horse i ever had was a shetland pony, her name was North Star. Then there was old Princess, i believe she was an arabian. Then there are 2 other horses that i remember well from my days at the CHSS, there was Highborn Maiden, and Hercules.

Can't remember the first horse I rode, but I did dearly love an old chestnut mare lesson horse named "cha-cha" that I rode for some time as a kid, and rode in my very first show. The first horse I ever owned was "Dominos Gamble", or Gambles for short. Great memories.

My first horse I remembering riding/owning was an appy named Star. I was 4 yrs old and rode her in parades and western shows. She was a redhead just like me. I'll never forget the time I was waiting in line during a parade and a piece of crepe paper from a float flew underneath her and scared her. She did a quick side step and dumped me right on the asphalt. I don't remember if I cried or not but I do remember the deputies taking me to the front of the line to ride with them. It was a great experience.

My first horse/pony was named "Candy" a beautiful sorrel shetland pony with a flaxed mane and tail and a blaze face. Same pony in the poll last month titled "Only a Pony"

She taught me alot.

Well the name of my first horse was Hakim Al Areeh (Lord of the Winds in Arabic) but we just called him Rascal. He got the nick name from the previous owner. Every time she would pick his hooves he would try to dig into her back pocket looking for goodies!

Gosh... I haven't owned my own horse yet. I have a few names in mind, but I need to meet him/her before I decide on the name.

However, I spent one summer at a ranch out in Wyoming. I had one horse assigned to me for all three months, so I still consider him to be like "my" horse. His name was Satellite and he was an Arabian mix. He was SOOO beautiful!! I still love to look at photos of Satellite. *sigh* He was a great horse.

My first horse was named "socks" because he looked like he was wearing white socks. My second Horse was named Sugar because she was so sweet.

I also have a mini-horse named Goldie...she's Gold!
