Question Good Cross?

what do you think of this cross? hypothetically of course as my mare is no longer breedable due to an injury

here is my mares pedigree
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/minimi3

here is the stallions pedigree
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/sbr+formula+one

i was going to breed my mare to him until she got kicked in the face by another horse and went blind in her right eye

i was wondering what type of dicipline the foal would have excelled at?

Sorry, Can't help with that cross. Don't know any of the horses on the dams side.

Curious-Who told you, you can't breed your mare due to her eyesight. It was an injury, not hereditary, correct.

right now, since she has not accepted the lost eyesight, im takeing precausions....also since this would be her first foal, i want to make sure she can handle it......we still need to do more tests to make sure her brain wasnt affected by the blow......

i really want to breed my mare, i think she would give me a beatiful baby. she loves to play with the other two babies at the ranch

if i do breed her, it will be next year but i would hate to get my hopes up and then have her not be mentally capable of handling a baby....... so right now im saying that i wont do it just so i dont crush my dream. my mares health and safety come first.

i will keep everyone updated on her progress......
i have her in a large panal paddock with my gelding (they are best friends) to help her along right now. she keeps brushing up against things and her depth perseption is wacked out.....my vet says that her 'good eye' just needs time to adjust and that some days it may look like she is totally blind but to give it a month or so of her just being in her pen with her buddy.....
in march im going to start working with her again and try to get her back on the trails and tha barrels.....
wish us both the best and i will keep everyone updated!

I don't know about the blood lines, but a good friends foundation brood mare is missing an eye and is an excellent mother and gets around just fine. As long as there is no damage to the brain I don't see a problem with it at all.

Thanks Jenejen!
if she ends up being 'all there' mentally and she adjusts to her new 'eyesight' then i will breed her next year. im taking baby steps right now. i do plan on makeing sure she is breedable this spring just to make sure. she is a maiden and i just find it strange that no one has wanted to breed her (she is awsome looking) better safe than sorry.

with her bloodlines, i have not been able to find any of the horses by googling them but i do know that she is race blood through and through (i guess every race pedigree is going to have a dud in there some where)
she hated racing. but loves to run the barrels. someone told me that horses that hate the confinement of a race tend to be really good on the barrels. it makes sence.
here are some pictures of her:
i think there is a video on there as well. not the best quality though.

Your right, it will take a little time to adjust.
But there are thousands of horse with loss of one or sometimes both eyes.

Where your mare falls into, she is just Ok bred. Not every breeder or trainer is looking to produce a triple crown winner. These "lesser" quality horses do have a place in the horse industry. They are the ones that run during the weekdays, at off tracks, during the winter months. There is no short supply of gamblers.
Your problem, she doesn't really have a strong "bloodline" to help support breeding her.
If you do breed, try to find a stallion to support her background, but more importantly have conformation strengths where she was weaknesses.

Thats a shame that your mare got kicked! But I agree if it was an injury not genetic issue, why couldnt you breed her?
