Default Naming Foal for 2011

Hi, I'm obviously new to this site and I was just wondering if anyone could help me with naming my new horse. I dont know if it will be a colt or filly but it needs to start with a R as his dad is Redwine.

Let me know,
Naming a horse you dont even know what it looks like it harder than it seems!

That does make it difficult! Maybe just come up with a few that you like for a colt and a few for a filly, that way you at least have a starting point. What is the mothers name? Will the foal be registered? What are the names in the pedigree if so? What breed?
colt
Regal
Razzle Dazzle or Razzmatazz
Renaissance Man
Red Rey(Red King)
Rio Rojo
Romulus
Run For The Roses

Filly
Red Riding hood
Reflection
Red Reya(red queen)
Rhapsody
Rizzo
Rouge
Rowa(Lovely Vision)

Do you like simple, one or two syllable names, or longer, possibly more than one name? When I register mine, I generally like to have something short that I can pull from their full name and use it as their barn name...

Colt:
Ringo
Rowdy
Rockstar
Ralph
R and B
Rageous
Ranger
Ravin
Roman
Romeo
Ringmaster

Filly:
Raine
Rainstorm
Red Roses
Raindance
Robin
Rihanna
Royal
Rising Sun
Rise to Glory
Roxy

Hope that gives you some ideas- and by the way welcome to the forum! Hope you'll stay with us, and let us know when that baby arrives (with plenty of pictures!) you can introduce yourself in the Introductions tab if you'd like to. Then post away ~

is this a registered name or a barn name?

If a registered name, post its pedigree and we can be more helpful. If its a barn name, wait and see what it looks like. I like for foals to choose their own names, no point in calling one Regal if it's common and slow just like no point in calling one Ralph if he's a fancy lil spitfire.

I'm interested in knowing what breed it is, since not all breeds take from their parents or other ancestor's names.
