Anybody got an idea for a going price for a good TB? would like a mellow guy. Looks like you can easily pick one up for 1500-2000? with some good training and time on him.

Sure, you can easily pick one up for $1500 - $2000, but he'll be green as grass!
For a good trained mellow TB, you are looking about $5k +

Also, if you want mellow and trained, do not go for a fresh OTTB, they usually need lots of training, down time, and heeling of injuries. Although, you can pick one up for cheap!
