Default Certain breeds for regions?

Are there certain breeds of horses either more common or better suited for certain regions of the country? I live in the southeast, so it is quite warm and humid.

I think of this with dogs, for instance. We don't find many Huskies or Alaskan Malamutes down here. Is it the same with horses?

Are there certain breeds more common in the south, or better suited for the year-round warmer weather?

Default Adaptable

Never really thought about it, seems Gods design allows the coats to come and go out. Unless you keep them in a barn and then would consider lights. But if they have runs out the back should be okay to keep them cool.

Hey that would be cool. Anyone have misters in the barn stalls? Sorry kind of a sub topics.
