K I have a TB Mare who was raced and she is the quietest horse i have ever had.
when we bought her we had a bit of drama wen she was chased through a fence but that healed a couple of months later and i could finally ride her.
she had her head really high in the air because all she had ever done was raced but she was such a quick learner that we only needed 1 lesson nd she was going round, we also had to teach her to jump but now she jumps like a stag. i have had her for about a year now and she jumps around 1.2 metres which is pretty good for a little hack.
i previously had a riding pony that i would show and it felt so good to get on such a quiet sensible horse who was my tb!
we also have a 3yr old tb gelding who is just like a dog he is almost bomb proof and he raced a couple of months ago these to tbs are quieter than all my previous ponies and galloways.
i understand that some tbs can be highly strung but no 1 gives these pretty horses a chance
Most of the time, these horses just need some down time and they turn out to be wonderful mounts! I am glad you are also one of us and continue to stick with OTTBs!
