Default OMG - Mini Attitude

My wife just filled her last slot for training on her board and she said it was a mini! She is actually teaching the "horse" to drive? Now don't get me wrong and don't get all huffed up.

I really don't understand the breed. So I am looking for some explanations and information.

What was the breed developed for? And what was it breed down from? And do they all have attitudes. It seems like this guy has little mans syndrome and I kind of have a soft spot for him.

Looks like he gives his all when he is pulling and even on a lunge line he give it 100%. But they are not ridable animals?

I am asking because I like to have a little information before I go an harass my wife about stuff. If I can't get her stirred up a little there is just no fun around the place.

Spud,

They do all have little man syndrome to some degree. They really are a lot of fun when you give them a chance. We have had some off and on over the years. Some as pets, some drive and others the kids ride. My 3 and 5 year old boys love the one little gelding my parents have. They are able to halter and groom and lead, and then ride him. It makes them feel like they have one of the big horses. My dad also uses the mini's at the all boy school he teaches at. This way these city kids can learn how to handle a horse without the danger of being around a full size horse. Look at it this way you can feed 2-3 mini's for the price it cost to feed one full size horse. They really don't eat much, they can live on air You don't have to shoe them, and they don't require as much space. You should take one for a drive sometime they are a blast and they are unbelievably strong. But you could always tell her that when you were washing one of her jumpers you left if out in the sun to long and it shrunk. People ask me why I have mini's and I said I don't we just left our full size horses out in the Arizona sun a little to long after we bathed them and they shrunk on us and no amount of miracle grow will make them full size again. They are fun and have great personalities with you give them a chance.
