Default Where to get a nice Arab?

Hi all...in my part of hte states the Arabs aren't very popular nor are they very good. (they look like stiff ponies and move very short strided and up and down.) But my friend just got an egyptian arabian given to her. he's 16 hands and full bodied and just gorgeous. is there anyone who is experienced with arabians who knows where to go for a nice arabian? have any breeders or farms you'd recommend? is the egyptian arabian a good bet? I need a 16 hand horse.

Most of the big Arabian farms are in Arizona for some reason. The Scottsdale show is huge down there. That is really the only place I know of.

You know how thoroughbreds and quarter horses have famous lineage that you look for? Does anyone know particular lines that one should look for in an Arab?

Have you tried going to dreamhorse.com or equine.com and looking under the specific breed/price and hands you are looking for in your state or any state?Ive sold and bought plenty of horses through there.

Yeah, it's the other coast, but I just love Varian Arabians. I love Shiela's way of doing things and her mind set. I like the look she is going for with her stock. If you are looking for the super refined, bald, shaved and greased, this is not the place for you. However if you are looking for exceptional lineage... http://www.varianarabians.com/sales.asp

I have no relationship with them what-so-ever, but I've drooled over several foals over the years.
