Default Skunks!

Has anyone had any issues with skunks.. looks like we are having an invasion at our stables.. they found a bag of sweet feed, and now they want to come back all the time.. must be a family as there are several at time..? How do you get rid of them? Or should we worry? I don't want them winking at me.

We had this problem. But ours was caused by grubs in our lawn. We had to spray the lawn and now the skunks don't come to our yard to eat. It was becoming quite a pain and a nuisence.

They like cat food too. I was feeding the other night and we have a lot of barn cats. I turned on the barn lights and at the other end was the herd of cats and skunk all eating out of the cat food. I fed my horse and got out of there! That smell lingers forever!

The lady who owns the ranch where I stable my horses has had this problem. She solved it by putting the feed into large metal garbage cans. It seems to have worked.

Oh Man that would not be good. Not only would the smell worry me but Skunks are one of the number one carries of rabies contracted by horses. I'm not sure if this works for skunks but I know it does for raccoons. Moth balls spread around will cause them to stay away. Try it adn let us know if it really works.
