Question ? about stable care

Hi!

We have purchased a small farm that includes a 3 stall stable.
The barn is 18 years old and in good condition. The inside is
unfinished, so I have been staining the tack room and utility closet
areas.

My question is , after using Ez all multipurpose cleaner, is it ok to
stain the inside of the stall with a semi transparent stain like Cabot?

My concern is that the previous owners horse was a cribber and I
am concerned about toxins.

Sorry to ask an elementary question, but I am new to farm ownership
and horsemanship.

(We have no horses at this time)

You have to be careful with everything that you use around horses. Especailly if it is not labeled for them. But I will tell you this. My horses live in a would barn that was painted for over 10 years and they would periodically chew on the window frames and other parts of the barn and never got sick, BUT that is not saying that your horses wont. Our new place is steel fencing and a steel barn (easier up keep for our area). My best advice is call your vet and speak with them. What affects one horse one way can affect another a different way, so be careful.

Hope this helps.
