Unhappy muscle loss

i have a 4yr old appaloosa stally he was doing fine when i got injured and got 2 guys to feed him for me for a week ...
but unfortunately they didnt and he lost weight and lost all of his muscle
now he is eating properly twice per day - morning feed 7am- night feed-8pm + hay in lunch time like 2pm ..
i was walking him on the lead and did some lunging with him but he is still skinny and low muscled !

It's good to make sure he has grass or hay at all times so he can munch whenever he's hungry. What type of feed and how much are you giving him?

Really sad to know about your horse injury and muscle loss after that.
I hope it would be fine soon and will ready to run ...
Thanks

When your energy are too low, your body goes into starvation mode. Your metabolic process slows down and your body basically burns muscle tissue to conserve energy. Muscle is metabolically active tissue, requiring a great deal of caloric energy just to maintain it.
