Default Getting Picked On

Any ideas for an older horse that is now getting picked on a little more than I like. I understand the pecking order and everything.

He likes pasture and still has alot of pep. But he just doesn't have it in him to fight back much.

It is such a pain to have to rotate them out. But he is an old friend and he deserves it. Just wish there was a neat old trick that might help out. I don't want him to get hurt now that he is in his older years.

I wish I had a neat little trick, but I don't. I have the same problem with my old friend, the younger horse wants to play and won't let up. I finally just divided the pen and gave him a section to himself but next to the others. A couple times a week for an hour or two I let them all run together but when he gets tired of playing and they begin to pester him I move him back over and close the gate.
