This is a picture of our newest family member. She was born on Thursday, May 10th. I love that she is tri-colored and that we finally got a filly. Seems everything around here that has babies ends up having a male.

What color is the mare? Is she gray? It is hard to tell from the picture. So the filly is bay and white, how cute.

Yes, the mare, Jewels, is grey with an undertone of bay. And the filly, Jazzie, is tri-colored. Her spots have already lightened up a lot and I think she is going to be grey like the mare when she gets older.

I will post some new pics of her soon.

I can't wait to see new photos of her! I just love paints. I think the grey with an undertone of bay on her mommy is just gorgeous. How is the baby doing?

The bay-gone-grey colouration was something that we used to call "rose grey" in the Arabian world, due to the fact that the horses maintained that reddened, or rosey, hue in amongst all of their grey colouration

That baby is soooo adorable! Have you figured out a name for her yet? It really makes me miss my babies!

Rosie grey, that is a great description of her color anarch.

My filly's name is Jazzy and she is now 13 days old. She's doing great but because she was born out in the pasture, we didn't get to imprint her so she's still pretty skiddish of us, not wanting to be handled much.

Here are some new pics of her taken today. Isn't she a doll?

Oh she is just absolutely beautiful! I love her colour and markings. Jazz seems like a good name for her, based on her looks.
