Default Jezebel

This is a pic of my newest mare Jez. She is awesome but, let me tell you, she is terrified of rattlesnakes.

Jezebel is beautiful! Her color is SO rich. Is it called chesnut? Where did you get her? What happened that you know she is scared of rattlesnakes? I am scared of them, too!!

How many horses do you have?

Oh, so pretty! You can't blame a girl for being scared of rattlesnakes. That's just common sense!

I have 3 mares, 1 15month old stud colt, and a 12 day old filly. I call Jezebel a sorrell but I'm not sure I know the difference between that and a chestnut. I bought her from a rancher nearby. She was a ranch horse that was put out to pasture as a broodmare for 2 years. After her second foal he decided that she was too good of a horse to be in pasture....that's how I got her.

I know she is afraid of rattlesnakes because we came upon one while riding down a creek bed and she reared up and fell over with me. Let me tell you, it scared us both to death.

She is very rich looking color. I would call her a chestnut, but you call her sorrel. It is the same gene genetically. ee means chestnut or sorrel. Ee means a black that can make a chestnut/sorrel and EE means only can produce black.

Thank you Zorro. That is interesting information. Genetics are confusing to me. I'm glad someone understands it.

There are alot of good articles about genetics in article hub of this site...

You can read them and share them. I found them very informative cause I can't figure it out sometimes when someone starts popping of color stuff.
