I think it really depends on where you are. Several years ago in Colorado you couldn't buy anything for under $1000 even yearlings. I went to a big sale in Nebraska, what I would consider high dollar horses with great breeding. Foals and yearlings were selling for $300 and less.

As my grandad told me once when I was offered $1000. and any horse on this guys ranch for my horse and I didn't sell. That's where 2 fools met. The fool that would make the offer and the fool that didn't accept it. BTW I still have that horse and will never sell he is my best friend.

Sorry I wasn't much help.

It really does depend on where you are located. I would check with your local equine classified magazines if you have any (we are lucky to have 2) then go online and check the sale sites. In the search put in the info that describes your horse and see what similar horses come up to get an idea. That is what I have done in the past on a few horses.

Hey! I'm not sure where you are, but just to drop an rough guess on her sale in midwest Tennessee: I figure she would probably bring around $2500 here if she fits the description you gave her. It would also depend upon how well she was advertised, what the season is, and if you wanted a quick sale or not. Considering all angles, between $2000-3000 I'd say.

Hope that helps!

It really does depend on where you're located. Also, is she registered? If she is, her value automatically goes up a bit, and if she has great bloodlines, it goes up again. You have to think about your target audience. Is she a good children's mount? Could she be a mount for a new rider, or does she need an intermediate to experienced rider? Does she have any show wins to her name, as those can definetly be points that people are interested in. Research what type of horse sells best in your area, and if she's not the type that sells well, you're going to have to drop your target price.
I hope that helped.
