Ok, so my instructor owns this gorgeous (and I mean absolutely out-of-this-world horse-that-you-dream-about GORGEOUS) 15.1hh shiny sleek black mare named Opera.
Now, she used to be ridden by Vicki who would bolt her around XC courses top speed, and she'd always come out on top. I would always think "One day when I can handle a horse like that, I'm going to ride that mare"
Well today, my friends, Gen, Fee and Annabelle saddled up Piggy, Cameo and Poppy for the juniors jumping lesson. The instructor said "Hey Trix, go saddle up Dinky, you can join in!" So I saddled up Dinky and his rider got on to warm him up and in about 20 seconds, was sitting in the dirt. So we unsaddled Dinky and my instructor said "Who could you ride then? Mayo, no he's a bit too lazy, Bandy freaks out when he jumps, Opera? Hey, you can ride Opera!" It took me about 5 minutes to realise what had just been said and by that time, I was riding!
Opera has really comfy, long strides (her canter's the best) and she just loves to jump!"
I love her now!
Cheers, Trix
