Smile hi people, I'm new

Hi everyone

Ok so I'm new here, so I'll tell you a bit about myself. I am a young Australian girl, I live in South Australia with my brother, sister, mum and dad.

I started riding when I was six and I met my next door neighbor who owns a huge farm with heaps of horses. My brother Danny (he's 10 and a really good rider) got his first pony the same time as I did. My pony was a 14hh grey Cob gelding named Toby and Danny's horse was a 15hh black Arab mare named Kat. So, Danny and I started showing in dressage and worked our way up to state level, before we had to sell our horses, due to expenses as our sister Mary was born. So then, our next door neighbor offered to instruct me on her 13hh black cob mare Phoebe. So I grew a really strong bond on Fee.

Meanwhile, Danny was having lessons on our next door neighbor's mum's horse Choccy. Our next door neighbor let Danny start showing on Choccy, and by this time, Mary was old enough to get a pony, a little bay gelding named Eskimo. Eskimo was a little bit too much for Mary, so Mary started having lessons and showing on Dinky, our neighbors bay 13hh gelding. I started riding Eski, but he threw my confidence a bit and I ended up on lead rein on him. So we started showing together and Danny, Mary and I worked our way up to the Royal Show. So in the show ring, Mary and I were both in the lead rein classes, and Dinky started bucking and kicking out at his handler. Then Eski started playing up and in the trot, he pulled the lead from the handlers hands, and he bolted off, throwing me.

So Danny did pretty well, getting a few seconds and thirds, but Mary and I had both lost our confidence.

So Danny still rides and shows on Choccy. We sold Eski and Mary hasn't ridden since. But a couplw of weeks ago, I started having lessons on Fee again.

I am now trialing Dinky and he is soooooooo gorgeous!

Default wow..You have done a lot

Welcome aboard Trixie,

It sound like you to have a love for horses, they give us alot of feed back, I think that is why so many love horses.

There fun like dogs, in a sense that they show affection and are happy to see us. But also know when they have the upper hand.

Keep trying and hope to see you around in the forum. It is growing slowing but growing and everyone so far seems to be really nice.

The forum is supposed to get a one of a kind look anyday now.. but I haven't seen it.. I am waiting it is supposed to be really cool. (that was me complaining)

I have a son of 6 years and a Daughter of 2 that loves to ride.. She pats her head when she want to ride.. (give me a helmet) so we know she is ready..

Take Care and Happy New Year

Spud
