Hello everyone,
I from Arkansas and I just got back into riding. I have 2 horses Buck and Skye. They are my best friends along with my Sammy (he is my bloodhound).
Welcome,
Horses are a undeniable we get side tracked from them from time to time, but always go back to them. It's a sanity thing.
My hound Maisey is pictured in the dog thread. She is the funniest-not so smart.
Normal dog- Someone enters house they bark or greet you. A Bloodhound sleeps through the first 5 minutes, then gets wiff of scent, goes to front door, tracks path taken through house, then is utterly surprised to find another person.
I have a white and buckskin paint and a red roan gaited she doesn't have papers not sure. I do know she was gaited at one time. The lady I bought her from did not like her gait so she tried to change it. I have been working to get back but not sure if I can. I love her anyway. I just got back into ridding it's been great.
Ooh, getting that gait back could be difficult. Do you know what kind of gait she did? My Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse does a single foot or ample, but there are many different kinds of gait. Have you ridden gaited before? One thing I've heard recommended to help strengthen gaiting muscles is to ride uphill. For some reason it makes it easier for them to gait, and they have to build those muscles to maintain a gait for any amount of time. And not a steep hill, a more gently sloping hill.
