Default Hello Everyone, Check It Out

Hi Everyone, How are you all? I am new to this forum and just wanted to say hi and to let you know what I am about. I have a wonderful 2 yo mare, Mousse, who was my inspiration into natural horsemanship. I started making my own rope halters to work with her last summer and a new business blossomed. We are surrounded by horses here in WI, and most people don't have just one, more like ten. In the heart of Amish country we are swimming in Standardbreds, which is what Mousse is. Anyway, please check out my website and feel free to ask me any questions, I am more than happy to share what I have learned so far.

Hello and welcome!!!! I raise/train APHA's and AQHA's, all about natural horsemanship. I also make rope halters...though one of the styles of knots gets me every time, so I end up re-tying about a dozen or so at least every halter lol.

Very glad to have you here, hope you have fun, and can't wait to hear more about you and your horse.

Welcome to HCC! Glad to have ya

I ride Rocky/Kentucky Mountain horses. I own 1 gelding named Captain Jack that's full P & V, I'll start showing him under saddle this summer. I also exercise and show for a friend.

May we see some pics of Mousse?

Yes, tying halters can be a bit confusing. I hate it when I am trying to tie the riding halter and get past the fiador only to find out I forgot to put the rings in the nose knots ... argh!

Here is a picture of my Mousse modeling my best seller (that's why she's modeling it) the bosal halter.

I know she is really shaggy right now, but we do live in the frozen tundra, in the summer her coat is really sleek and shiny.

Well we had a pretty nice day the other day and I decided to go outside and take some more pictures of my horses modeling my wares. After about 20 min of chasing around the big lead gelding he decided he had enough and came up to me. I was glad, I was probably panting as hard as he was. I learned a long time ago that I had to settle him down so the rest of them would be calm too.

This if Flash, he is the herd leader. He is the oldest at 9, he was the first baby that I have had to raise. I made this bridle for him, the nylon webbed bridle we have been using the past years never fit right, then we got a leather one, but it was too big. You can tell, I made it just for him.

This is Puddles, he is Mousse's big brother. He is so hard to get on at 17 hh. He looks good in this bridle too.

And here we have Princess, our Friesian cross. She looks more like her momma an appy.

So this is our herd, whittled down to only four horses (from 16) Yes it was hard to part with a few of them, but they were not getting any use here, and I hope are happier with their new owners.

And for good measure another pic of Mousse.

I know, they are really fluffy, and no matter how good my pictures look now, I am going to have to take them all over again. They have that fluffy hair for good reason, it has been really cold up here during winter for the past few years, we had record snow last year, and the snowiest December this year. But, I almost never see the horses go indoors to get out of the elements, even when it is really nasty they prefer to stand by the building, and not go inside.
