Talking Hi all!

I've been looking for an online group so that I can stop driving my non-equine friends and family crazy!

I'm fairly new to riding, started taking lessons two years ago and just got my first horse this week! He's a nine year old sorrel quarter horse and I'm totally smitten with him. I ride english and western. Jumping is my favorite disicpline, but I work at a ranch right now in Colorado Springs, so I've started back with Western for the time being.

My husband is active duty Army, so we move around a lot and I thought horse ownership would be much farther down the road, but I'm glad to be wrong sometimes!

Anyway, I look forward to learning more about you and our awesome horses!

Red face Thanks!

I'm going to try to figure out how to upload pics and stuff this week, my hubby is TDY to Atlanta for the week.

I love your pics, thanks for sharing! We have an appendix at the ranch named Star and I really like her. I considered her instead of Skip, but she has a bad back so I can't jump her.

Off to figure out what I can here.

Hello! It will be interesting to know more about you and your horse and to see some pics. I ride horses for 1 year in one of barns. There are many interesting horses. It is very good, that you've got your own horse!
This is Gracia. She was born in 2004. She is orlov's trotting.

Welcome to HCC! We're a very friendly, helpful bunch here! I'd love to see some pics of your boy, let one of us know if you need help getting the pics to load. This is my 3 yr old gelding Legend's Captain Jack. He is a Rocky/Kentucky Mountain horse and mommys boy!

Does your boy stay at the ranch, or do you have him at home?

Your horses are beautiful!

I figured out how to upload my avatar, that's us, but I know it's really small Do we have photo albums as part of our profile here?

Skips at the ranch right now, but come October, he'll go back to my riding instuctor's boarding barn, which is 10 minutes away. Then we're going to teach him to jump. He'll jump out on the trail, so I hope that it will be easier to teach him to jump non-natural barriers? We shall see. He's a good boy. My husband is very horse savvy and says that Skip won't be exceptional at any one thing, but he's a good all around horse and tries whatever you ask of him.

Well, I'm off to the ranch! I'm off today but my boss wants me to help with vaccinations. And, I'm going to Big R to get my own stuff for Skip. They tease me at work, but I want all of his stuff to match.

There is an album section. Also, you can load the pics onto photobucket.com and then paste the img code into the message window. It's free and makes it a lot easier to share pics on here.

Of course you want everything to match! Jack's colors are pretty much blue and green. I even have green vet wrap, lol.

Howdy and welcome to HCC !! I Love CO, I was in the Springs in 2007 for a trip, and rode horses somewhere close to Buena Vista (or no, was it somewhere else)... anyway it was M Lazy C Ranch in case you happened to know it. Gorgeous country.

I raise Paints and Quarters, they are my favorite All-around breed, I also enjoy them for jumping as well

If you'd like I can make you a picture signature (like my Shadowfax sig below), just paste some pictures on the forum somewhere, or you can PM message me and let me know if you'd like one.

See you around the forums !

Okay, thanks! I need to go figure out photobucket and make an album.

CO is gorgeous, I work at Turkey Creek, the stables on Ft. Carson. We just got here in Jan, and I'm probably not familiar with the ranch you mentioned yet.

I saw that you are in TN, we were in Clarksville for 2 years when my husband was with the 101st Airborne. That was my favorite duty station so far!
