Default I have a problem!

This is to all of you who are on here for a while - and to Ron / Admin1.

First of all, I have to admit that I got on here because some internet marketing goofballs told me I have to do social network marketing to get visitors - tons of them.

I first was discouraged that I did not get tons of visitors. But over time I found this was a pretty neat forum. People asking questions - and other people trying to help. Just ordinary horse people - some new, some with a lot of experience under their belt.

Ron, I know that this site needs visitors / members. But besides the idiot who tried to sell electronics for a while, there has been a trend lately that people seem to join only to promote something. Ltc4h just nailed another one offering boarding. By the way - Katz1 down under will sure love to know, she can board a horse here.

Now there are a few responses to an old (and dead) thread - I admit I kind of ticked the person off. "Which way to go ...".

At first I could not figure out, why someone would respond to that. Then I got it, more or less subtle they all advertise someting - if it is not a website, it is "certified" whatever.

I am afraid that this is a bad trend. Again, I was doing that, too. But I learned.

Any idea guys?

Sorry- no answer here, but I hear ya.
Such is the way of life-Whats in it for me.
Unfortunately that is the mindset of most.
I own 1 horse and a 3 stall barn-I think I'll board.
I watched a video and went to a few clinics-I think I'll train.
I adopted a straggly weanling at auction-I think I'll breed.
I can buy a rasp at the local tractor supply-I think I'm a farrier.

No body does anything out of the kindness of their heart and certainly not if they can't make a profit from it, or can claim to be better than the "Jones"

The only way is to self police.

And yes, You will stomp a few toes. But if that is met with resentment then just maybe they will take it as the wake up call it is meant to be.

Default Was it me??

I am quite new here. You run an interesting forum that has the potential for helping people. If you are referring to my post as one advertising "certified whatever" I am afraid you are sadly mistaken. Commercialism takes care of itself. I was merely offering advice to a youngster on how we made it work for us. Others do it differently. You and I appeared to agree on the cross tie advice. Those were my first two posts to the forum. I assure you that I was just trying to help. I have no need of marketing on this forum. In fact, I have no true need of this forum, if I am to be accused for trying to be helpful.

I am truly interested in being a part of this forum, so please let me know here if whether it was or was not me to which you are referring. If it is me, I will choose to go elsewhere. If it is not, let me know and disregard all of the above.
