Default New Here, where to start

Hi everyone. I just signed up on this site. I'm an avid horse lover. I own a 3 1/2 yo Quarter horse gelding named "Chance". He was my rescue horse just about three years ago after I was seriously hurt in a riding accident. I've trained him from the ground up and he's now green broke to ride. Now I'm the recent owner of a 12 yo Haflinger gelding who responds to the name "Punk" (not too sure about this name for him but - ok) I'm a single mother with two pre-teen kids. I have a love for horses that goes back to my childhood (before boys and my kids) and have always been looking to expand my knowledge of riding and training (for my own horses).

Hi,
Welcome.
Glad you've recovered from your accident, but hope it wasn't helmet related [not wearing one]

I was wearing my helmet (I don't ride with out one I had broken 7 ribs and my collar bone and don't want a repeat of that accident. (I was bucked off a 16.2 apendix qh that had been drugged - only had him for 10 days before this happened. I don't have that horse any longer.)

Chance was bought 3 weeks after I was hurt at 11 mos old. I nursed him back to health and trained him for riding. (He's such a good boy, I've had him just about 3 years now.) The new horse I bought, just about a week ago, a 12 yo haflinger gelding ("Punk" is what he responds to) needs to have refresher training. He hasn't been ridden in 3 years and has been left to do as he pleased for this amount of time. (Yuck!) So I have a project on my hands with him, but he does have a good temperment and is healthy. So these are my horsey babies, lol. I also have a 12 yo daughter and a 10 yo son (and can't forget my other half of 12 years
