Talking INTRO: Kaci from Texas

Hi there! I am Kaci from the Texas Panhandle. I have grown up around horses and have had horses of my own for 2 years ... finally got my very first registered horse. A gift from a good friend. A 7 year old AQHA Sorrel Mare. This will be my first experience with training. She is supposedly a gentle mare, had some time with a trainer a few years back with no problems, so we'll see how she does. Going to start tonight with just some leading and getting to know each other. Then, if we do well with that, we will try some longeing and maybe see if she'll take a saddle tomorrow. If she's a little saddle shy, we'll work longeing for a week, just some acquainting time, then try the saddle again. I know there's no telling, she may take the saddle and be like she just left the trainer and she could be back to square one. I'm hoping for the former. Have a great day!

Default Good Luck!

I was also given my horse as a yearling and I had NO formal training! But with the help of my now trainer we are doing fantastic. Sometimes things just "click". So good luck!
