Cool Hello from the Beautiful PNW!

I forgot I signed up for this forum and just rediscovered my login info so I thought I'd introduce myself! I'm a long-time fan of the western horse (cutting, reining, working cow horse) with a deep love for dressage. Combine these two things and you will discover my real passion: Vaqueros. Working equitation is a passion of mine that I hope to pursue further when financial circumstances improve again.

I've been riding for the last 10 years and training for the past 5 or so. I've done some starting, schooling, finishing, and everywhere in between. I've trained pack horses to cart ponies, gaited horses to barrel horses. You name it, I've at least thought about giving it a go I've worked under a few trainers in the past but no one really "big name".

My goal currently is to acquire a diploma in Equine Science from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, coupled with a journalism degree at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. No easy task, for sure! Eventually I would like to co-manage/own a successful all-around facility, focusing on training specifically.

I'm excited to be here on the forum and look forward to interesting discussions!

Hello Rampant!

Welcome to the forum! I am excited to hear the word Vaquero here, I don't know alot about the riding style and I think you must be a first on the forum...so rattle away, I'll listen!!

I live in middle TN, own AQHA's, APHA's, used to compete in western speed events and WP/EP, later got into eventing and raising horse babies , the horse economy has quit me of that for now though. I would rather rescue all these neglects than bring another into the world

Glad to meet you, hope you enjoy yourself around the forum!

Hi, Glad you signed in.
Great -Education first.
Not sure of the future in barn ownership, but equine journalism is a perfect choice.
