Default hello

Hi,
I'm Sarah. I'm 21 years old have been riding since I was 8. Started working with horses at 10 doing pony rides went on to work in a riding school taking out trails. I got my first horse at 15 Princess is a 15hh QH with an AMAZING JUMP. Sadly shes put her leg through the fence a few times so between that and her arthritis (some idiot thought jumping a 3yo 6 ft was a good idea) ((not me)) we're confined to baby jumps barely off the ground.

for the last 2 and a half years ive been undertaking a traineeship in NH and WOW it works. Started my first horse this summer an arab x brumby called strawberry and on our 5th ride had a relaxed canter. As part of my traineeship i also instruct and at 5'1 guess who deals woth the cheeky ponies!!

Princess and I are currently working on our bareback and bridleless which is the most amazing feeling!!

I have another mare Ella she's a tb x wb i was given her at 15 months unweaned and she's a handful thats for sure!! she really is the biggest stress in my life as i cannot be with my girls everyday and she sees everyone but me as playtoys!! We were 3 weeks off me getting on her for the first time when she decided to go through a fence splitting one extensor tendon down the middle and shaving the other leg. SO my weeks are planned around badages which require IV sedation because she is a problem child!! I do adore her she's the best if im upset or just need cuddles she's such a cuddly girl.

long winded reply i know. apparently im in a talkative mood tonight

Sarah, Welcome to the forum !!!

Secondly, your post isn't long winded, don't worry. Nothing compared to some we have around here. And I like to read new-member bios anyway.

Congrats for owning a QH. I think every horse person should at some point in their life. I have two foundation QH's that have got to be the closest thing to human I have ever known. The prey instinct is basically flat bred out of them ! From birth - plastic bags, heavy equipment, dogs, loud noises, crowds etc they act like they don't know anything about it and that really there is nothing in the world to be frightened of. The mare also has NO herd instinct. She could care less if there were 50 horse in the pasture or on the trail, or none at all. Aside from that, these are the two smartest Quarters I have owned yet. After working with/messing with a number of other foundations, I have decided I'll never be without one

Ok, enough of the rattling about the world's most popular breed.

Sorry to hear about your TBxWB's accident. I admit I have a patience problem with hotbloods (though technically you have 3/4's of a hot blood haha ) one day I'll work on gathering a bit more patience and working with hotbloods more but for now, I'm enjoying my stock horses. And I could always get one of those 16+hh Quarter horses or Paints if I needed the legs.

Ok my post has become longer than yours now. Well, enjoy the forum, and...would you like for me to create you a signature picture (sig pic is what is below my post) if you pm me a few photos of your horses and whatever else, I'll do one up for you.

Cheers ~ Ashley
