Smile Hello from a greenhorn!

Hi. My name is J.Lynn and I am a newbie to horse ownership. I have helped my friend/neighbor with her 5 horses over the past 9 months, but what I know about horses is a drop in the very large bucket. On April 3rd I was able to get my first horse. I'm in my 50's and I have dreamt about this day for 45 years. My horse is an Appaloosa named Flash, is 24 years old, and is as sweet as honey but still spunky. My neighbor's friend needed to find a new home for her, and because of her sweet, laid back nature, felt that she would be a good horse for me.

I have so much to learn and I look forward to gleaning from all of your knowledge and wisdom about horses.

Hello and welcome !!!

Hope you enjoy the forum, post a photo (or two...or ten...we LOVE photos around here) of your horse. He sounds amazing. If you have any questions, fire away.

Hi J Lynn,

Congradulations on the new horse. I am 54 years old and have owned horses just about all my life. It is a passion I can't give up. I own one paint gelding right now, he is about 11 years old, I have had him since he was 3. Did his training myself with help from my riding instructor and a couple of trainers who helped with some stuff I couldn't do. Enjoy him and have fun.
