Default Hi From Alberta

Hi, thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Pat and I live in central Alberta. We currently have four horses...Diego: Mangalarga Marchador gelding, Dandee: AQHA mare, Teebo: Arabian colt, & Casper: Mangalarga Marchador cross gelding. Also have a Rhodesian Ridge back cross dog: Ruby, Great Pyrenees cross dog: Loki, a house cat: Bonkers, and some barn cats: Nemo, Marlin, Tux, and Milo. I also have four aquariums with an assortment of fish. I work as a water treatment operator.

Looks like a great forum and a nice place to meet some new people.

Hello Pat and welcome to the forum!! I own AQHA's and APHA's, a crazy Australian Shepard...and a few game chickens.

Thanks for joining and hope you enjoy yourself here. Your horses sound wonderful, are Marchadors a breed that recently (past few years) had a breed name-change? Or another name for this breed? I'm fairly sure I giggled the first time I heard the name because I always remembered it under another breed name. Like the Kathawari's to Marwaris. I may be mistaken.

Well that said, any and ALL photos of horses and other pets are warmly welcome, and the more the better

Thanks for the welcome.

They have always been Mangalarga Marchadors. They originated in the early 1740's.
