Default Texas girl bedding down in Oregon

Just wanted to say hello! I am originally from Texas, currently living in Oregon. Managed to bring up the Brangus cattle, but had to leave the horses behind. Going to graduate school at Oregon State university for anthropology. Have a year old son, my first and only according to the doctor. Self-proclaimed earth-mama with a very eclectic lifestyle. Lokking forward to talking with everyone and listening to someone else besides me say "ya'll"

Thank for stopping by. Pretty nice situation Texas to Oregon. At least to didn't get stuck in California.

I am so trying to get out of here. My wife wants out also, she lived in Texas for awhile working on a dude ranch If I remember her stories.

I was born and raised in Texas. In some ways I miss it, but it was getting a little too crowded there. I grew up in little hick towns in east and northwest Texas. Ended up in Houston due to my dad and got stuck there. I was looking at grad school and Oregon State sent me an application. Figured what the hell, all the earthquakes shake California!!! That and I miss trees from when I was a kid. I like it up here, reminds me so much of my childhood. Nice, quiet, little towns with eclectic people like me. But walking out my front door in the morning is still a little unnerving, i haven't gotten used to mountains all around yet. And Houston just wasn't getting safer, and with my little boy, I wanted someplace safer to raise him, and that just wasnt my home state anymore. I will help when and where I can!

It always helps to be around a group of people who have the same interests and beliefs that you do. I just never thought that it would be on the internet that I would find it. And honestly i never expected Oregon to be so much like the home i remember when I was a kid living in East Texas. It has been such a nice change, and people for the most part have been so welcoming here. And the agriculture is amazing!!!!
