Hi Callie!

My one horse drives, but I don't have a cart for her anymore.
I am starting my colt out by line driving him, keep thinking it would be a good idea for him to learn to drive. Nice moving horse,

Was reading your intro and had to laugh. We have the same amount of pets-looks like we both are cat lovers.

Anyone else notice that as well? We all seem to have multiple varieties of pet friends. Must be in the blood. I just acquired an new kitten this weekend. Will have to post pics soon.

Welcome,

We have mini's in the family that drive and they are a blast. I would love to teach all of mine to drive. Just don't have the time right now. But again, welcome to you and your critters.

Hi CallieBean. I'm from Wisconsin too and my husband (Kevin) is trying to learn how to teach his small draft to drive. He's doing the ground work now on the older one (the other was just weaned) but he needs help with what to do next. He met with a man named Doc Hammel (spelling?) who taught him quite a bit but Doc doesn't live in our area to where he could continue any regular training. We have many, many videos and such but what Kevin really wants is someone who is an experienced driver (is that how you'd say that?) that he could tag along with and take the reins so to say. He's just more of a hands on kinda guy I guess. We've looked for paid trainers in our area but just haven't had much luck. Most of the people in our area use the Amish to train their horses and we'd really rather not go that route....he'd really like to learn to train his own. I saw your post when I googled horse driving in wisconsin so joined this chit chat thing (hope I did this right) in hopes that you may know a good trainer here..one that practices natural horsemanship? Thank you in advance for any help.

P.S. I'm a critter lover too! We have a small hobby farm in Elkhart Lake and I just love everyone of my pets. Even my most recent little Hermit Crab (Jimmy Buffet) that my 9 year old won for me at the local fair this year...YEAH!!

Hey from Indianapolis! I own a 2 1/2 yr old gelding, 2 LARGE white German Sheps., 3 cats, and some fish! I have never done any driving, but I think it'd be an awesome experience. Looking forward to hearing more!

Oh yeah, how bout some pics of your babies?!
