Default Hello From Kentucky

I am new here. My name is Kim and I am the servant to 2.5 horses. We live on Fort Knox, Kentucky. But we have just bought a house in Irvington, Kentucky that is on 6.25 acres already fenced for horses with a 2 stall barn! I can't wait to move in and have my kids at home with me. We have been boarding for the last 3 years.

I am a mother of 8 year old twin boys. I am currently a SAHM while going to school for my associates degree as a veterinary technician, a field I have already worked in. I was a vet tech in the Army before my boys were born. So, most of my classes are more of a refresher.

My horses are Darla, "Darlita Flash Bar," also known as Dee or Momma. She is a 14 year old paint. Currently bred to a solid black QH named "Smokin Guntown" for a Feb 08 baby. This is my first baby and Dee's last. She was a broodmare before I got her, but she is now my trail horse.

I also have a 9 month old gelding named "Whiskey." He was more of a rescue and is my project...I tent to call him "Whiskey Sour" because he knew nothing when he came to us. But we are making SLOW progress. Anyways, I've blabbed enough. Thanks for having me.

Hi Kim and welcome! I bet your really excited. I love having my horses at home and I just love the babies! Every year I have 1-3 mares in foal and broadcast them live over the enternet with my barncam threw marestare.com. It's so much fun to share that special time. It's also great because not only are you sharing but you have several people all over that help watch your mare! I would have lost one of my mares a year ago if I hadn't gotten a phone call from a lady several states away from me that just happend to be up watching my webcam and seen my mare in trouble. Nothing better then being there and knowing your own mare but the cams online are great for the times you can't be.
Hope to talk more
Cathy C

Welcome Kim!

Congratulations on your new home!
You will love having your horses out the back door and being able to feed in your PJ's.

Hey pj feeding is always fun, especially if you get to crawl back into bed. Doesnt happen often but is great when it does! It will also cut down on you gas usage having them right at home like that. Congrats on the new home and welcome to the group!
