About how much do you pay to trim and shoe your horse? I am also having trouble finding a farrier....

That question can be hard to answer. IT varies depending on what part of the country you are in. I am in Az and my farrier is one that the local referral equine hospital uses and recommends. He is a little pricey than other farriers but you get what you pay for.

I pay $55 for a trim all the way around and shoes just on the fronts. My horses don't wear rear shoes. I used to pay $100 for a horse that I had that wore eggbars. My best advice is call your Vet or a referral hospital and ask for a list of recommended farriers in your area.

Good Luck

The vet is a great place to start. The ones they recommend are usually good although some are by referral only. You can also check with the AFA American farriers Assocation, but some of the really good older ones aren't members. Then if your breed specific. A good reiner will need sliding plates where a TWH will need platforms. But trimming is about the same across the board.
P8nt was right price will vary, location, what your having done and farrier experience are all factors.
In Pa, trims are $30-50
Fronts-$90 All round-$150 keg shoes[means bought off shelf]
speciality or handmade-$250 +

P8nt- Almost would be worth flying your guy here. Have a paintwith bad feet in Glue on 3* wedge Aluminum bars. He is $325
