Big Red
Okay it was a Dark and stormy night on a late october evening...
Hey it was a good entry anyway. I want to tell you of a story that happened to us about 7 years ago.
We trailered up to a rodeo in Fresno California and we were roping in the slack. Now usually this is were the best roping sometimes happens as most of you know, you get the serious entries and the players who jet out to the next rodeo and wait for the check in the mail.
Now we were by no means to be considered the players but we looked good. And once in awhile we caught but really never covered our entry fees. But we had fun. We trailered in and unloaded for the morning slack and my buddy dave (dally dave) always thought his pants were a little small for his brain and looked around like he would be noticed. Anyway we unloaded my 44, a 15 year old quarter horse that was trained by a old man in Sanger. We were backing him out and Dave was checking the local buckle chasers who were walking the parking lot checking stock for the evening dance.
I asked him to help but he was already on a one track train ride for a local express. So how could I resist. I Clicked for his horse to back out and that he did right over the top of Dave the Dangerous. Now you have to get a mind photo of this. The horse bumped dave right onto the ground in a parking lot like every other. A field run down by a tractor and the set up crew ruts as deep as an Idaho interstate and water held over from the Dust buster from the early morning.
Dave went down like a ton of wheat on thursday morning. Well the story is funny because he fell right in a big pile of Road Apples and water combo. He planned on just roping and changing his shirt and of to the dance. So no backup plan for Dave.
Long story short he didn't get to many two steps and good thing he had a nice swing on him because other wise his odor de colgne would not have got him a dance.
