Default My Artwork; [img intensive]

Hi everyone,

Well admittidly I haven't been around on here for a long time and having seen the "member drive" email I got from the admins I remembered about my subscription here! So I figured I would share with you what I do as part of "Dream Merchant Designs" - part of it is photomanipulation, but the other side is Artwork, including customising model horses (Breyer, Peter Stone and Artist Resin models).

I'll try and explain it simply.

For starters is a Traditional (1:9 scale) Breyer "Bouncer" model, who used to look like this: http://www.themodeltradingpost.com/images/707.jpg

And was repainted into a gorgeous Cremello color:

Next was a Breyer "Smarty Jones" model that I was comissioned to paint into a Blue Roan - he started off life as this: http://www.healthstones.com/farm_lif...onal_horse.jpg

And then was repainted into this:

He even has small metal-like shoes glued onto his hooves!

Next was a Breyer "Nokota" model that started off life as this guy: http://www.goldenoakstables.com/miva...1279Nokoda.jpg

And then was repainted into a Cremello Splash Sabino critter, mixed even with dirty, muddy socks (because he is a mustang Nokota breed representation):

Next was just a customisation (where you change the position of the model) - he used to be this guy: http://www.igallopon.com/Images/Andalusian-toy.jpg

And was transformed into this gorgeous position:

He was sold as is, unpainted and sent to the buyer's favourite artist to be turned into a dappled grey I do believe.

And since I'm only allowed to post 4 images per post - I will continue!!!

Next is two projects which are on the same model and currently "Works In Progress", so they are not completed - they started out life as these guys: http://www.playfairtoys.com/img/cache/3260x0-3786.jpg

Their costumes were taken off, and this is the first guy, being turned into a blue roan lace sabino:

And the second guy, who is basically finished aside from his eyes being painted (he is for sale on an auction site, I'll link you to it in a second, which the new owner gets to choose his eye color when they win the auction), he was turned into a bay maximum sabino, much like the gorgeous Clyde's you see with the sabino gene:

His link to his auction is here: http://myauctionbarn.com/auction_det...tion_id=101926

Thanks for looking guys!
~Sam

I love the work that you do.. that is really a gift. Been to many horse expos and trade shows and I don't know if I have seen anything as personalized as that..

I may contact you .. for a gift for my wife..

Post some up in the gallery.. you may get some business out of it.

Good luck

Oh I didn't realise we had a gallery, I may have too - thank you so much for the tip!!

And feel free to send me a PM or email me at: catabywarmbloods[at]gmail[dot]com (sorry, trying to keep spam bots at bay!) and I'll discuss your options with you at any time! My books are getting full at the moment, but let me know when you'd be interested in something and I'll let you know how I'm going!

Thanks again

You should have seen my first work - eeeehhhh not that good!! LOL

Thanks for lovely comments though!! And yes, that Blue Roan is my favourite too, I was sad to see him go, if he was my model I definately would have kept him and not sold him!! Oh well - I'm working on turning an Artist Resin into a blue roan mustang at the moment

Oh my goodness, that'll be so handsome!

I love any roans...I'm not sure why.

Once I saw a blue roan pony & I wouldnt leave his stall because I was "in love"

:P

Wow- those horses are gorgeous! I love blue roans too. I gave my sister-in-law a blue roan apha filly for her birthday!! I'm almost jelouse LOL!!! (Just kidding, she's my sis-in-law)

I had a question for you that paints the stunning horses if you don't mind! I was curious what type of paint you use. Is it the same as the paint that comes with the breyer paint-your-own horses? Because that paint is kinda' shiny and breyers don't usually look "shiny." Know what I mean??
