This is my little paint quarter horse, Dirty Bird. I rescued him from the auction when he was a colt. He is more like a dog than a horse. He is an absolute gentleman. When I bought him he was covered in scales and dandruff flakes. His hooves were cracked and jagged and he was missing patches of hair all over his body. He was severely malnourished and had a runny nose and eyes. Now, he is coming on three and has turned out to be my pride and joy. In the summer he has a beautiful shiny black coat and a long even mane and tail. He is filled out and has pretty good conformation. His hooves are still mending, but otherwise, he is a diamond in the rough.
He's nice! Have a many great years with him! That's one thing I always loved about rescue. To take a very neglected animal and turn them into a wonderful member of my family or another family,
Awww, he's quite a stunner! Three cheers for you, I am all for rescuing.

That's great that he turned out as a reward for your efforts. I am glad that you shared that photo with us and than he has turned out healthy and happy.
I am sure he is thankful!
